What is ProChiropractic ?

1. What is a Pro-Chiropractic Association?

ProChiropractic Europe is an international organisation of Pro-Chiropractic associations (PCA) in Europe with the purpose of promoting chiropractic in the country where the association is based.

The purpose of the ProChiropractic Europe is to provide a forum to exchange ideas, to develop common policies, and to promote chiropractic as an independent health care option in the European countries.

Throughout many countries in Europe PCA's have been formed: Denmark, England, France, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Switzerland are all members of ProChiropractic Europe.

2. Who is member of ProChiropractic Europe?

In general patients who have been helped by chiropractic - and thereby have their life quality improved. Now that person or group of persons want to provide proper information about chiropractic and to support the development of chiropractic in their own country - and Europe.

3. Our Goals are

  • to promote chiropractic in Europe to allow all people access, if needed, to qualified chiropractic care
  • to help establish Pro-Chiropractic Associations and develop common interests to work for the authorisation of chiropractic in all Europe, and support all Europe, and to assist national PCA's.
  • to create solidarity between patients and chiropractors in Europe by promoting their mutual interests.

4. Look at our work

ProChiropractic Europe represents the members on a European Level and assists with the promotion of chiropractic as an independent profession in Europe.

The work designed to influence political decisions is carried out in close cooperation with the chiropractic profession through the European Chiropractors Union (ECU) and their lobbyist. On a national level, the PCA's political work must focus on parliament and political parties, but it can also involve unions and the labour movement in order to gain wide and massive support.

ProChiropractic Europe does not undertake activity of any kind in any country unless it is asked to do so by the PCA of that country, in full understanding with the national chiropractic association and ECU.

ProChiropractic Europe uses two methods of dissemination of information and ideas: Newsletters from the President from time to time and Meetings of Board members and delegates.

ProChiropractic Europe exchanges pamphlets, posters, magazines, articles, videos etc. Yes! We share information and work. A PCA must first of all find a dedicated person to do this voluntary work. So look for one of your relatives or devoted patients.

5. Support ProChiropractic Europe.

To the annual subscription to ProChiropractic Europe there is no per capita fee - at this stage. Smaller associations are not in a position to contribute large sums and should provide only what they can afford. It is the old and well established PCAs that make the big contributions, for which ProChiropractic Europe is thankful. Contributions from ECU and different national chiropractors associations have also been a great support.
